Performance through Progression

Shaw Farm Equestrian is home to dressage riders Esther and Harriet Horsfall.

SFE is before anything else a 5* Livery and training yard bringing both top class care alongside purpose built, world class facilities. Shaw Farm opened its gates to the equine world 10 years ago and over those years Esther has cared for and trained many horses for her clients. The yard has had a rapid growth and is now a leading centre for Training and Livery in the North West.

SFE is Esther’s passion, she strives to bring out the best in horse and rider and provide the best customer services around.

Whether you wish for first class full livery services or you are in need of tuition SFE caters for all. Novice riders to advanced riders are welcomed at Shaw Farm.

Situated in stunning countryside we are also very attractive to someone wishing to enjoy the more sedate horse ownership by making the most of the wonderful hacking on our doorstep.

SFE’s livery packages are all bespoke and tailored to individual needs, an offering of Full, competition, schooling, breaking and most recently our fabulous Rehabilitation livery which includes our TheraPlate.

Stable Talk

Shaw Farm Equestrian offers a calm, kind and friendly atmosphere for both horses and owners alike. The facilities are truly outstanding. I would recommend the yard to everyone, whether you just enjoy hacking out or your a complete dressage nut like me!!’ – Katie Amos.

Katie Amos

Esther and her team run the yard in a very professional and friendly way. 5* hotel for horses where nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are super, good stabling, excellent turnout, wash area and solarium, and indoor & outdoor schooling areas. There is also great hacking on the doorstep. Shaw Farm Equestrian is just a great place to be for you and your horse.

Kate Siddall

When we viewed the yard we instantly loved it! The setting is beautiful and the owner/family members are friendly and approachable.  He is very happy with the personal touches he receives each day and makes full use of all the facilities. I would recommend SFE to anyone.

Vicky Taylor

I came to SFE having lost my confidence and feeling over horsed, Esther and her great team have helped me enjoy my horse again and given me my confidence back. The facilities and services are excellent, the liveries are all lovely and the yard has such a calm atmosphere. We are both in a much happier place than we were 12 months ago, I am looking forward to progressing further.

Shelley Lyons

My daughter has been stabled at Shaw Farm for two years and has no intention of leaving anytime soon. That is testament in itself! The facilities and care are second to none, you only have to see how far people will travel to be on this yard. The events and clinics are fantastic with the best trainers catering for all. Most of all Esther and her team do an amazing job working 7 days a week to provide the best equine care.

Catherine Marshall

A great yard…nothing is too much trouble for Esther and the staff. Lovely well maintained stables with nice beds in an American barn. A covered horse walker is a life saver in the often wet weather that West Yorkshire has to offer. There are also regular clinics in a well maintained arena. A warm, welcoming and a lovely atmosphere with knowledgable staff with some great hacking straight out of the yard. Very highly recommended.

Livery

At Shaw Farm we strive to offer the best possible livery service, which can be individually designed to best suit you and your horse and ensuring you receive the best possible care.

Training

Together with you and your horse, Shaw Farm will come up with the best possible training regime. Each horse is treated in a sensitive, steady manner and treated as an individual accordingly.

Theraplate

The Theraplate is proven to counter the effects of chronic inflammation conditions, speed healing, reduce pain and aid in the prevention of injury.

Events

Theres always something happening up at Shaw Farm. We like to try and cater for all levels of riders and horse, so whether you’re a happy hacker, or you compete in anything from Show Jumping to Dressage then we’ll have something for you.

News From the Yard…

Equine Flu Outbreak

With the news of the outbreak of Equine Influenza in the equine industry this has raised some concerns throughout the equine world. We have taken relevant action and put the below protocol into place.

10 year anniversary of SFE

I cannot quite believe we are celebrating 10 years of business at Shaw Farm, and what an incredible journey it has been. We have seriously progressed over the years, from humble beginnings to now being one of the leading centres in the North West for training and livery.

New logo and website

We have been working hard behind the scenes to rebrand our logo and freshen up the website. Huge thanks to the brilliant team at Creative Graphics for a sterling job! I love it! Hope you all do too x

Masta

We are excited and privileged to be working alongside Masta. We get sent lots of fantastic products to test, trial and use on our horses and report back to Masta. We have been extremely impressed with the quality of the products, especially the protechmasta range which has amazing beneficial qualities for our horses. We share lots of posts and comments over on our social media forums about all the products we are currently trialling out, take a look.

Theraplate

This summer we added to our fabulous facilities with the installation of Theraplate. I have always had a keen interest in rehabilitation and this piece of kit is amazing at aiding our horses recovery, reducing rest time, kick starting rehab, and generally boosting strength and conditioning. We are welcoming many clients to use this facility and out liveries are also benefitting hugely from it too.

Combined Training Series!

Between March and August SFE hosted a fantastic Combined Training series, this was kindly sponsored by Aya Sophia Greek Restaurant in Hebden Bridge. These competitions were very positively received, everyone having great fun and leaving with a smile! They were very well attended and it was great to see so many returning clients. Huge well done to all our class winners, they are to be awarded with beautiful sashes and rosettes. Due to the success of this year we will see a return of our Combined Training series next year.

New arrival at SFE!

April 2nd saw a new arrival to life at SFE, Esther gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl, Cora. Cora is regularly around the yard making sure her mums working hard to keep up the good work. Esther is now back at work full time and is available for teaching. Esther has been back riding since May and is training all the horses again and working very hard to get Rolex SFE out at Advanced Medium in the near future. We would like to take this opportunity for all the well wishes during this time!

BHS Approval spot check

Yet again we are pleased and proud to announce that here at SFE we breezed through the BHS annual spot check to be awarded the highest grading of 'HIGHLY COMMENDED' in each and every section. The BHS expect not only for the service and quality of care to be top class but also the facilities  have to be maintained to a high standard, including our turnout and fencing. To receive this year on year is a great achievement and its thanks to the hard work from our fantastic team of staff.

💥 Monday Motivation 💥

Every day is a chance to learn, to develop and to take on new opportunities!

How many of us will think ‘I’ll start Monday’ or ‘next month’? That attitude falls into procrastination which will undoubtedly get in the way of success. We can be open to new opportunities everyday, even every hour.

Don’t limit yourselves.

This is especially a good mindset to move on from a bad day, being able to reset and move forward positively by being open to opportunities.

Opportunities come in many forms and we can attract opportunities by asking for help, learning from others, putting ourselves outside our comfort zone.

Opportunities is also just a mindset, the more positive and creative we can be with our approach to things can open our mind to greater things.

Make everyday a worthwhile day, make it productive and aim to be the best version of yourself each day.

At the end of each day ask yourself what could I have done today to train better, work better, be a better person, and then put that into action tomorrow! With this attitude you will soon see personal g#shawfarmequestriant#liveryyards#liverya#horseq#equinen#equestriand#liveryyardlife #horsesofigu#dressagetrainingr#mindseto#positivityressagetraining #mindset #positivity
