Regionals and training

SFE has seen one of its busiest years, we seem to have a yard full of fabulously talented horses that we are training, competing and taking care of.

Rolex and Badger have had a busy summer of training at home with the watchful eye of Jo Graham and Matt Burnett keeping us in check while CDJ is busy prepping for the Olympics.

Rolex is getting more confident and secure in his work at medium with his half passes becoming much more established. Badger has been improving on his submission and adjustability and is a real pleasure to own and train.

August took Rolex and I to the Elementary Silver Summer Regionals, the test felt easy for Rolex (which is a rarity) he was a joy to compete and I came away feeling very confident and happy with our ride. To then come 3rd at a regional was a huge achievement for us. Rolex has been an immensely tricky horse to train and develop and I finally felt like something had clicked! I was so pleased with our result, slightly disappointed to be so close to the golden ticket! But hey you can not have it all!!

Badger didn’t compete at the summers, but he is well on his way with his winter qualification at Prelim and Novice. We are now gently upping his work regime and he is learning his lateral work and collection work with ease.

Rolex is all qualified for the Winters at both Elementary and Medium which is fantastic for us as a personal accomplishment!

Just those pesky changes to establish then we can move on up again!

We were lucky enough to restart our monthly training with the golden girl of dressage this September, Miss DuJardin! And what a great experience that was, she was very happy with our progress but as usual set the bar higher and gave us lots to work on until our next trip!

So we are now all set for a winter of training all 4 boys, along with assisting in the training of many other talented dressage horses that are housed at SFE!

Regionals and Livery success.

Well its been a busy week of preening and training our ponies ready for the Winter Regionals at Myerscough International Arena.

It is fantastic that four horses from my yard that I have large input with qualified and competed at the Regionals.

Katie and Otto, Katy and Alice, Charlotte and Tess and Rolex and I.

Katie and Otto did superbly well in a strong Elementary freestyle class considering Katie’s run up was hindered with illness and she hadn’t competed in some time, Otto performed really well, so well done to them both. Katie is now starting competing at Medium level.

Charlotte and Tess, well what can I say other than I was SUPER proud of my little protégé who is only 14 years old and riding a very advanced sharp horse in a highly contested Novice Open class along with true adult professionals, Charlotte held her own and looked wonderful. Charlotte and Tess are off to the Nationals in April in the Petplan Finals.

Victoria Fisher and Lady G also started their BD career with a bang, Lady only being 4 went out first time and came home with plus 70%!! Well done.

Well done to all my liveries in all their disciplines. It isn’t only the competing liveries but also my happy hackers and pleasure riders who achieve their own set goals month in month out.

Much more to come from team SFE xx

Liveries Success!

Our Liveries have been storming ahead just recently which is always fantastic for us to see!

We have 2 of our liveries off to the Winter Dressage Regionals for Novice Restricted and also the Novice Freestyle to Music, huge well done to Katie Amos and her super talented gelding Otto, and to Karen Burns and the amazing 21 year old Mary who puts many of our younger ponies to shame!!

Haydn and Armani are also doing brilliantly well on the eventing circuit, they have only just started out and keep coming home with improved scores on each trip, there is a very exciting future ahead for them.

Helen Kettleborough and her fabulous new Stallion Opus are also proving to be tough competition on the Iberian circuit with many wins to their name, Helen has recently purchased Opus so their success is set to continue and get ever more exciting in the months to come.

We also had 8 of us competing at PRC’s dressage competition in August and all 3 classes were won by one of the SFE team, everybody performed really well and it was a superb effort from all at the yard.

Well done to all of my Liveries and lets hope the success continues.
