KWPN Beauties!

Earlier this year we decided to begin our search for a talented 3 year old to join the SFE team to develop for dressage with the prospect of selling before 2017 young horse classes.

We scoured the internet and started our hunt only to be quite underwhelmed at the quality available at a realistic price, we then struck on a lovely gelding we wanted, unfortunately he miserably failed the vet costing us a lot of money and disappointment.

So, our search took us to Holland!! And what a fabulous and exhilarating experience it was. Over the two days there we were presented with nearly 20 horses, all of which matched our spec, all with super breeding, movement and temperaments! We were very excited!! The yards we visited were fantastic, all very professional, the standard at which the horses were turned out was nothing less than world class and certainly showed us brits how things should be done! If nothing else, we learnt a vast amount from the trip!

We are excited to announce the purchase of not one but two stunning 3 year olds, both very different stamps but in their own right both tremendous equines!

Ivan – 3 year old – Franziscus x Jazz

Impact – 3 year old – Don Tango x Bentley

Both horses are very lightly backed and passed rigorous 5 stage vetting’s with full x-rays.

We are very excited about these prospects, please watch this space for further details!!

Rolex and Badger

We have had a good few months of competition preparation and training at SFE.

Both boys are coming along tremendously well, we have had a couple of trips down south to train with Charlotte Dujardin which has been incredible as always.

Rolex has been successful with his competitions of late, he had two plus 72% winning both classes just recently and made his debut in the Horse and Hound which was a proud moment. We only have 2 points left to achieve in order to receive our summer qualification at Elementary level. Rolex SFE will then be making the move up to Medium this summer.

Badger who we have registered as Hennessey SFE will be out competing at Prelim and Novice this year and may contend the young horse classes depending on his way of going. We do not want to rush him as he is showing superb scope for the future.

I will keep you posted on our progress.

Spring Dressage

Our first competition of the series kicked off on Saturday 18th March.

I am pleased to say it was a huge success and a real fun filled day! We had a good number of entries and a superb level of quality riding.

It is very exciting that we have some fabulous sponsors on board this year to bring the competition and added zing! Hird and Partners vets are our main sponsor for the year, we also have sponsorship in the form of fantastic prizes from EquiFit Physio, Katie Amos Photography, Jude Furniss Massage, Minerva Beauty.

Great few months!

I have neglected the news page of recent months, purely due to SFE being so busy which is fantastic!

We completed another wonderful Dressage Series in October and crowned many more riders Champions, the series ran really smoothly and entries were very positive each month.

Combined Training Returned with a bang in  November, we had record entries for this event and every rider gave us positive feedback for the future, 2016 will see a return of this event.

Rolex and I have had a successful run of late in the dressage arena, and we are pleased to say we have comfortably qualified for the Elementary Regionals in February. Badger my lovely but cheeky 4 year old is also coming along nicely, he is having his first visit to Herefordshire shortly to meet Charlotte DuJardin. I hope she likes him as much as we do! I am sure we will be sent home with lots to work on.

Leighton has been very busy over the summer making our horses lots of beautiful haylage, he has also renewed all the electric fencing in the paddocks, they are all now newly fenced with either post and rail or permanent electric fencing, it looks fantastic!!!

My teaching seems to have taken off somewhat this year, which is great, I am really enjoying seeing my clients develop week in week out. I am excited to announce my teaching is now open to all, not just my liveries.

Our clinics with Jess Dunn, Jo Graham and Tracey Newman have been as popular as ever and we will continue to work alongside these fantastic trainers next year.

We have done a couple of charity fund raisers this Autumn too, we had an amazing Hoedown in September which raised over £3000.00 for CRUK, and then we hosted a Table Top Sale this week which raised £440.00. We will be continuing out support to CRUK next year with other events so keep an eye on our events page or facebook.

SFE Christmas Party is only two weeks away which is so exciting! However I cannot quite believe where this year has gone, its been a busy one for sure.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients, old and new for their continued support and here’s to another fantastic year to come at SFE in 2016.

Have a great Christmas and New Year guys, Esther xx

Stephen Clarke Returned!

Well what an amazing day we all had when the god of Dressage returned to SFE.

Stephen was fabulous company as always and supplied 8 lucky riders with a huge amount of knowledge and techniques to further their riding and improve their scores. I for one could not stop listening to his wisdom!!

Stephens teaching style is very encouraging and welcoming, we had a wide range of levels and not once did he make anyone feel inadequate or uncomfortable.

The buzz around the yard that day was fantastic, all my amazing liveries were very friendly to our visiting clients and the whole place felt warm and friendly.

We are excited for Stephen to return again. Watch this space!

Busy few weeks of training competitions and much more!!

Well I haven’t managed to post many reports of late as we have been absolutely manic at the yard, which is always good.

January and early February saw a rather annoying interruption to our events due to the snow and icy conditions so we were unable to do a great deal.

Rolex and I have been having great form over recent weeks, with 5 consecutive wins under his belt and consistent scores of plus 70%, we have now qualified for the Summer Regional Championships at Prelim again, however our final aim is much higher. We have started our competitive riding at Novice level and we secured a confident win on 70% gaining us 7 points towards the summers at novice also.

Then came the regionals, Rolex and I have only been competing together at BD for less than 12 months so just to be there felt an achievement for us both, he took the whole atmosphere in his stride and coped remarkably well, however a huge rider error from myself allowing him to jog in the free walk cost us greatly. We finished 16th, without this error he would of undoubtedly made the top 10 so a little heart wrenching. But all in all for our first regionals I cannot complain, onto the summers now.

Keep checking in on our events calendar for everything we have going on.

Charlotte Dujardin

Rolex and I have just returned from 3 gruelling but brilliant days training in Hereford with CDJ, she has really encouraged me to up my game and push on through the levels. Rolex is now comfortably working at elementary level and we are starting some medium work.

I am very fortunate to be able to train with such a talent and amazingly successful rider, I hope that what I learn from Charlotte I can pass onto my clients.

We are back down south at the beginning of March for more intense training – bring it on!!!
