Regionals and training

SFE has seen one of its busiest years, we seem to have a yard full of fabulously talented horses that we are training, competing and taking care of.

Rolex and Badger have had a busy summer of training at home with the watchful eye of Jo Graham and Matt Burnett keeping us in check while CDJ is busy prepping for the Olympics.

Rolex is getting more confident and secure in his work at medium with his half passes becoming much more established. Badger has been improving on his submission and adjustability and is a real pleasure to own and train.

August took Rolex and I to the Elementary Silver Summer Regionals, the test felt easy for Rolex (which is a rarity) he was a joy to compete and I came away feeling very confident and happy with our ride. To then come 3rd at a regional was a huge achievement for us. Rolex has been an immensely tricky horse to train and develop and I finally felt like something had clicked! I was so pleased with our result, slightly disappointed to be so close to the golden ticket! But hey you can not have it all!!

Badger didn’t compete at the summers, but he is well on his way with his winter qualification at Prelim and Novice. We are now gently upping his work regime and he is learning his lateral work and collection work with ease.

Rolex is all qualified for the Winters at both Elementary and Medium which is fantastic for us as a personal accomplishment!

Just those pesky changes to establish then we can move on up again!

We were lucky enough to restart our monthly training with the golden girl of dressage this September, Miss DuJardin! And what a great experience that was, she was very happy with our progress but as usual set the bar higher and gave us lots to work on until our next trip!

So we are now all set for a winter of training all 4 boys, along with assisting in the training of many other talented dressage horses that are housed at SFE!

Rolex and Badger

We have had a good few months of competition preparation and training at SFE.

Both boys are coming along tremendously well, we have had a couple of trips down south to train with Charlotte Dujardin which has been incredible as always.

Rolex has been successful with his competitions of late, he had two plus 72% winning both classes just recently and made his debut in the Horse and Hound which was a proud moment. We only have 2 points left to achieve in order to receive our summer qualification at Elementary level. Rolex SFE will then be making the move up to Medium this summer.

Badger who we have registered as Hennessey SFE will be out competing at Prelim and Novice this year and may contend the young horse classes depending on his way of going. We do not want to rush him as he is showing superb scope for the future.

I will keep you posted on our progress.

Charlotte Dujardin

Rolex and I have just returned from 3 gruelling but brilliant days training in Hereford with CDJ, she has really encouraged me to up my game and push on through the levels. Rolex is now comfortably working at elementary level and we are starting some medium work.

I am very fortunate to be able to train with such a talent and amazingly successful rider, I hope that what I learn from Charlotte I can pass onto my clients.

We are back down south at the beginning of March for more intense training – bring it on!!!

Exciting few weeks at SFE & a very Merry Christmas to all!

We are all still on a high after our hugely successful clinic with Charlotte Dujardin at the beginning of December, all our liveries, clients and myself had amazing lessons and were all inspired by her training and approach to riding. We had so much fun. Charlotte loved the yard and thought the facility upgrade was amazing!!

We have also welcomed lots of new liveries to the yard just recently who are all settling in really well and enjoying yard life at Shaw Farm.

Karen Burns and the Queen, who is also known as Mary have also had a very successful competition record just recently, they competed in their first FSM at Elementary level and qualified for the Regionals on a huge score of 69%. We are very proud to see our liveries out there and doing so well, no doubt there will be many more fantastic results to come.

We all had a brilliant night at the yard Christmas Party! There was lots of very sparkly dresses, lot of dancing, crazy games and lots of laughing! We all had a great night.

We have lots to look forward to over the coming weeks with our Festive Clear Round Fun day, Leonie Smith Clinic and then welcoming Stephen Clarke.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a successful New Year and thank all our clients for your continuous support and business.

All the best for 2014, Esther and the team at Shaw Farm Equestrian xxx

Charlotte Dujardin Returns to Shaw Farm Equestrian!!!

We cannot express our excitement enough, we have been waiting to welcome Charlotte back to our newly upgraded facility for quite some time and we have been fortunate to secure a weekend clinic with Britain’s Leading Lady.

Not only is she Double Olympic Champion and European Champion but she’s also Britain’s most successful Dressage rider to ever come out of this country.

We are hopeful to secure more dates with Charlotte over the coming months.

The clinic is already full so watch this space for more information.

Please contact Esther for more information.

Charlotte Dujardin Visit!

We are still on a high after our extremely successful clinic with Britains leading dressage lady, Charlotte Dujardin. The weekend was fantastic, with everyone from spectators to lesson participants and all the guests at the question and answer evening having a super time.

We even managed a write up in BHS mag, Todmorden News, Evening Courier and Yorkshire Post! Not every day that happens for a humble livery yard.

We are excited with the chance of booking regular clinics with Charlotte once our indoor is up and running! Watch this space!!!
