Stephen Clarke Returned!

Well what an amazing day we all had when the god of Dressage returned to SFE.

Stephen was fabulous company as always and supplied 8 lucky riders with a huge amount of knowledge and techniques to further their riding and improve their scores. I for one could not stop listening to his wisdom!!

Stephens teaching style is very encouraging and welcoming, we had a wide range of levels and not once did he make anyone feel inadequate or uncomfortable.

The buzz around the yard that day was fantastic, all my amazing liveries were very friendly to our visiting clients and the whole place felt warm and friendly.

We are excited for Stephen to return again. Watch this space!

Regionals and Livery success.

Well its been a busy week of preening and training our ponies ready for the Winter Regionals at Myerscough International Arena.

It is fantastic that four horses from my yard that I have large input with qualified and competed at the Regionals.

Katie and Otto, Katy and Alice, Charlotte and Tess and Rolex and I.

Katie and Otto did superbly well in a strong Elementary freestyle class considering Katie’s run up was hindered with illness and she hadn’t competed in some time, Otto performed really well, so well done to them both. Katie is now starting competing at Medium level.

Charlotte and Tess, well what can I say other than I was SUPER proud of my little protégé who is only 14 years old and riding a very advanced sharp horse in a highly contested Novice Open class along with true adult professionals, Charlotte held her own and looked wonderful. Charlotte and Tess are off to the Nationals in April in the Petplan Finals.

Victoria Fisher and Lady G also started their BD career with a bang, Lady only being 4 went out first time and came home with plus 70%!! Well done.

Well done to all my liveries in all their disciplines. It isn’t only the competing liveries but also my happy hackers and pleasure riders who achieve their own set goals month in month out.

Much more to come from team SFE xx

Busy few weeks of training competitions and much more!!

Well I haven’t managed to post many reports of late as we have been absolutely manic at the yard, which is always good.

January and early February saw a rather annoying interruption to our events due to the snow and icy conditions so we were unable to do a great deal.

Rolex and I have been having great form over recent weeks, with 5 consecutive wins under his belt and consistent scores of plus 70%, we have now qualified for the Summer Regional Championships at Prelim again, however our final aim is much higher. We have started our competitive riding at Novice level and we secured a confident win on 70% gaining us 7 points towards the summers at novice also.

Then came the regionals, Rolex and I have only been competing together at BD for less than 12 months so just to be there felt an achievement for us both, he took the whole atmosphere in his stride and coped remarkably well, however a huge rider error from myself allowing him to jog in the free walk cost us greatly. We finished 16th, without this error he would of undoubtedly made the top 10 so a little heart wrenching. But all in all for our first regionals I cannot complain, onto the summers now.

Keep checking in on our events calendar for everything we have going on.

Charlotte Dujardin

Rolex and I have just returned from 3 gruelling but brilliant days training in Hereford with CDJ, she has really encouraged me to up my game and push on through the levels. Rolex is now comfortably working at elementary level and we are starting some medium work.

I am very fortunate to be able to train with such a talent and amazingly successful rider, I hope that what I learn from Charlotte I can pass onto my clients.

We are back down south at the beginning of March for more intense training – bring it on!!!

xmas party

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

We would like to wish all our clients, old and new, a very merry Christmas and Happy and successful new year.

2014 has been a fantastic year for SFE, the yard has really found its feet for being the hub of all things equestrian. Our livery service is as popular as ever with many waiting clients. We have continued to build on the training and clinic days we provide and these are as busy as ever. 2014 has also seen our own very successful Dressage Competitions which have been held monthly.

Rolex and I have progressed our training and our competition record has also been on the up, we have qualified for this Winter Regionals and hoping to progress up the levels in 2015.

Many of my liveries have also had a very successful competitive year, Alice, Tess, Otto and Rolex are all qualified. Opus has done amazingly well at the Iberian Breed Show wiping the floor in most classes. And many of my other liveries have reached personal goals of their own, so a huge well done to all my clients for all they do with their own ponies.

A big thank you is needed to my fantastic staff force, we have the best group of girls who work very hard for all our horses and we are always grateful of all they do.

2015 is going to be a bigger and better year I hope, I have lots of plans and ideas so watch this space.

We celebrated 2014 with our Xmas do on Saturday and it was a brilliant party with lots of dancing, singing and laughing, us horsey folk sure know how to party!

Thank you for the continued support and on going business.

Best wishes,

Esther and Leighton xx

Stephen Clarke returned to Shaw Farm!

What a fantastic day we all had when the guru of dressage that is Stephen Clarke when he revisited us this month.

Stephens style of training is totally different and he is a man of few words, however those few words are bound to teach you a thing or too!!

We had a full clinic with him, along with a large waiting list. Each and every rider on the day came away very satisfied and full of excitement.

Stephen will be back with us again soon, I will post dates on here as soon as we have something organised.
